Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annually
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000, with potential flexibility up to approximately $15,000 for an exceptional candidate
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Security Officer (FSO) to establish and lead the company's security function across its laboratory and manufacturing operations.
This is a newly created position and an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys building programs, identifying vulnerabilities, developing policies, and creating structure from the ground up .
The FSO will be responsible for protecting personnel, facilities, property, intellectual property, and controlled information while supporting compliance with government, customer, and federal security requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a background in government, defense, military, industrial, or highly regulated security environments and be comfortable both enforcing security requirements and working collaboratively with employees and leadership.
What You'll DoThe following experience is especially valuable but not required :
Candidates do not need laboratory or chemistry experience to be considered. Relevant security experience in a defense, government, manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or other regulated environment may be highly transferable.
Leadership & CommunicationThis role requires someone who can be assertive without being abrasive .
The FSO will need to communicate security requirements clearly, address non-compliance, and hold employees and leadership accountable while maintaining positive working relationships across the organization.
We're looking for someone who can confidently say, "This is a security requirement, and here's why," while also having the judgment and interpersonal skills to work through challenging situations effectively.
Facility & TravelThe FSO will primarily support the Portland, Oregon facility , which is approximately 5–6 acres.
The role may also require periodic travel to the company's Albany, Oregon facility , approximately 71 miles from Portland.
A college degree is preferred but not required .
A degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field is a plus, but relevant security experience can substitute for a specific degree.
RelocationLacamas Laboratories is open to qualified candidates relocating to the Portland area.
Candidates traveling from outside the area may also be eligible for company-paid flight, hotel, meals, and travel expenses for an onsite second-round interview.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced security professional to build and own a security function from the ground up .
Rather than stepping into an established program and simply maintaining it, you'll have the opportunity to evaluate the current environment, establish policies and procedures, identify vulnerabilities, implement improvements, and become the company's primary security resource.
